Windows 7: Age of Empires not playing

My problem is that i can install AOE2, and the conquerers expansion without any difficulty, but when i hit play on the splash screen, the loading splash screen shows up for about 10 seconds, disappears, then nothing happens. i can hear the cd spinning and stuff happening inside my computer, but nothing works.



it's not a problem with hardware specs, as i just got this comp recently and i made sure i could do some high end gaming on it.

i've looked around on these forums and i haven't found any solutions though i have found similar threads.

i've tried running it in compatibility mode, administrative mode, the non conquerers expansion (normal game) nothing works.

i really want to play this game badly, any help?

type eventvwr in search. go to the windows log>application tab. look for errors ( they have red in the left hand column) that have app hang, app crash, or the game in the event. There is a lot of data but they are there. When you find them use the snipping tool (type snipping tool in search) to make a screen shot and upload it to us using the attachment icon ( it is shaped like a paperclip) to upload it to us.

okay i got two errors from the game multiple times (presumably from me trying the game multiple times). i snipped them and here they are. only app errors, no app hang.
