    Falcon 4.0

Falcon 4.0 is an old flight simulator that's been heavily modded and kept alive. I tried getting it to work, but the core game glitches all to hell and back, and the mod i tried (freefalcon 5) just blacked out the screen so hard, even a three finger salute (ctrl-alt-del) didnt bring control over the box back.
I fiddled with compat settings etc, but to no avail.

So, anyone else tried it? tips? tricks?

    Tried it no luck

I've tried to get F4AF to work with the RC, but it keeps freezing while running the game. It doesn't lock up the system though so it would seem to be a purely graphics issue. I have a gtx 280 with driver version 8.15.11.8585. Anyone had better luck? I can't get XP mode to work either or I'd just use that.

Anyone got Falcon4 AF working in Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

Falcon4 AF is my primary Game/Sim, and if it's not working with windows 7 then i will have to stick with XP.

I have gotten it to work in 64-bit. I used compatibility settings for Win 2000 and make sure your graphics hardware is set correctly in the settings.

By Graphics Hardware Settings, do you mean the Graphics Setting in Falcon4 AF's Graphics section? Or Somethings else.

What Graphics settings do I need to set? I have Saphire ATI Radeon HD4850 1GB

    Also, I'll be installing Windows 7 RC1 7100 64-bit (Downloaded from Microsoft)

    Any Suggestions?

The graphics settings in the game menu. I have a gtx 280 and the game set my display adapter to the mobo device instead. I believe that is the only change I made but the computer is not hooked up right now so I can't go check. I have the most current geforce driver and obviously cant say if the catalyst drivers will work correctly.

Falcon4 AF seems to work with win7 64-bit and also i get the game running at HD res 1920x1080. But, the game interface got stuck at the low res i think its 1024x768 and i keep getting the resolution warning from my LCD.

I tried the same with Falcon4 and OF (updated to OF 4.7)
But, couldn't set the graphics resolution beyond 1280x1024

And one has had any luck with Falcon4 OF at HD resolution.

Same problem here with F4AF on Windows 7 64-bit RC1 with my 8800GT. I suppose it could be an issue with the Nvidia Windows 7 drivers. Whatever the case, I'd like it fixed -- this is the only thing currently holding me back from setting Windows 7 as my default boot option!

    Windows 7 64-bit + F4AF

Falcon 4 AF was acting really strange in Win7 x64

I have Geforce 9800 gtx for my video card and Intel Q6600

It seems to work fine now, after having made a change in the game settings. In Falcon 4 AF > Setup > Graphics >
    1. select your video driver of choice
    2. From the two options in the next drop down list which are:
    a. Direct3d T&L HAL
    b. Direct3d HAL

select option (b) which is: Direct3d HAL

Save and try again... good luck!
