    Hi,

I'm not computer literate, so I am having some problems running the patch tool and patch.

This is what I did, I downloaded both the patch and the patch tool and put them into the SC2K folder.

I opened up command prompt and entered -->

    C:\Games\SC2K\bspatch SIMCITY.exe SIMCITY_PATCHED.exe SIMCITY.patch

Then I press enter and I see another little command prompt window open but it immediately closes and no new file is made.

if I am doing something wrong, please help! my city needs me, and I need to save the city (pun intended)

Why does the patched version suddenly need admin rights to run??? That seems very fishy to me.

If your SimCity2000 will not work correctly or run, it needs a registry. (for windows 7 64-bit) Here is a Registry key. put it in your Sim City folder and double click on it, then Run or 'install' it when it asks you if it's ok to install or run.

The SimCity2000 is an old game, and needs a registry for it to work.

I don't think that's going to help with saving/loading cities.

I'm having the same problem. The game simply cuts off when I try to save .
No reasons or anything. Just Cuts off directly to the desktop.

If anyone has a fix or a link to one, please post. Thnx.

I think the only fix is to run the DOS version through DOSbox. Even gog.com sells it that way which is a sign the Windows port can't reliably run in 7.

The only other option to run the Windows version is to use a PC running XP.

The patch that someone posted above looked promising, but I don't see why it would suddenly make the game need to run as admin.

I've tried the CrazyCasta patch but all I got was a blank screen with this written:

    BSDIFF408[>BZh91AY&SY3~SlP@(@@ 1 db-C!*o‹"œ(HY€BZh91AY&SYšŠ …˜@@H @ P˜HSŠ’’*‰{€nt–Œ{kHˆ‰_‹"œ(HT‚MEBZh9rE8P

    Is this correct?

Crazy's fix with the registry tweak partially works for me, but it also fails to save.

    Sorry for necro......

But does anyone have the patch for this game? Couldn't download it from either of the links in the thread atm

    Edit -

Nevermind I found the solution myself, thank you XD
