    Horrible Framerate (OFFLINE GAMES)

    Hi all,

I, like many people in this forum, have many issues with my games
i can't play a game without them being so laggy. Its not the driver i already tried the video card is good(it worked very well on XP before i install 7) and so the CPU. i don't know what to do.

my games are NHL 09, sims, rainbow six vegas 2. Even online games like Combat Arms is so laggy althought at first i thought it was the connection but i'm starting to doubt about it......

Please tell us some specs. Also, right click one of the games, go to compatibility, and check run as admin, disable visual themes, and disable desktop composition. Then try. If it doesnt work, select the windows XP (service pack 3) from the compatibility mode, and try.

    HI
    heres my specs

    Intelcore2 Duo E4500 @2.20Ghz 2.20 Ghz
    Mem. : 3GB
    win32 bit

    Video card : Gforce 8500GT

i search a lot throught the web and it seems like a lot of people experimenting the same problem as i have right now. Someone said it could be a probleme of component such as overheated Vidcard or my motherboard. And as i search in this forum, i can only conclude that the problem hasn't been resolved yet...

Your graphics card isnt very good. Try to lower graphics detail in the game's options. Also, it could be that your connection is low for Combat arms, or there is someone in game with a big ping.

    Whats your internet connection speed?

You need a new graphics card. An 8500GT for gaming is just inexcusable at this point. Not only is it obsolete, it was also not a very high-end card to begin with. Just $200 would get you a nice ATI Radeon HD 4890 1 GB GDDR5. With that, I can max out the graphics in near 1080 resolution on any game I have so far tried including Left4Dead 2. No lag at all. Plus, if you don't want to spend that much, there's always the Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 or if you are into the latest, the 5700 and 5800 series cards. I don't know too much about Nvidia, but right now what I do know is that ATI is winning right now. Both in value cards such as the 4850 and the extreme such as the 5970 2 GB card (next-gen equivalent of 4870 X2 supporting DX11).
