Utilizing Dx11 to run Dx10 Games?

    Hey,

I was wondering whether anyone has managed to get Call Of Duty 4
running on the highest graphics as it requires Dx10.. and well, were at Dx11.

I know my Graphics card can Handle DirectX 10 as its the nVidia GeForce 8800GT

But wheres the High option on COD4 for Win7!?

    Thanks boys

Call of Duty is not DX10, neither is Call of Duty World at War, they only require 9.0c.

It's because the developer designed it with DX9 in mind, so they could transfer as much as possible to PS3 and 360.

Take a look and google Call of Duty Directx 10, you'll notice zero findings how to run it in directx 10, and no pictures.

They were considering patching it for dx10 at least for waw, but nothing yet.

Even COD was Dx10.. I dont understand what Dx11 does here

Dx11 is compatible with Dx10 card. That's not mean you can play DX10 game with Dx11 functionnality, and specially with a DX10 card.

All it mean is that you can play Dx11 game with a Dx10 card, baut without special effect that are not supporterd by your Dx10 card. Or with DX wrapper, some features can by done by the CPU.

But you must have a Dx11 game (which doesn't exist yeat, of course)!

    I thought CoD4, 5 & 6 were console ported to PC games so they couldn't be DX10?
