Windows 7: Can I run a Game in Win 7 which is umcompatible with Vista?

I used to play Runaway in Vista but it did'nt open and it keeps me saying that "Error Starting DirectDraw" , but works fine in XP. Now if I play it in Windows 7 could it play. (I think it won't because Vista & 7 kernel is same. )

You could try running it in Win XP compatibility mode..

Ok, i tried every compatibily option that Vista has to offer but didn't succeed . But there are guys out in game forum that have been able to play on Vista.
