Make older MS games WIN7 compatible

There are a number of games that MS issued back about 15-20 years ago that I have enjoyed playing even with Vista. However these games are incompatible with WIN7 64 bit. Does anyone know how I can get these games to run on Win 7 64 bit. Its a shame if I can't since I have enjoyed them all these years. The games initially were issued as WEP 1, 2 and 3 and are as follows:

Blackjet, Winmine (the older minesweeper game), Cruel, Golf (not the golf game), Tetris, Fugigolf, Jezzball, Maxwell, Rodent and Tutstomb.

I would hope Microsoft would reissue these games in their original form but compatible with Win7 64 bit. They are not sophisticated, but they are very enjoyable.

If you machine is capable of running a VM XP mode they will work there. I still have the 3 floppies they came on.

If you can't run XP mode on your PC, then try Sun's VirtualBox. It is probably the best virtual desktop software I have used. It will require that you have a valid copy of XP, but it runs great on Windows 7, even on older hardware.

    Hi, Welcome to SF,

You could try to Run under compatibility mode. Try the Compatibility Troubleshooting Tips

    Hope this helps

    to ZIGZag and Capt Sparrow.
Installed WIN XP virtual machine and I still can not install these programs. The message is that the programs are incompatible with my current system. Do you have any other suggestions or did I do something incorrectly. I tried to install the programs with the WIN XPmode virtual machine window open as instructed on the WIN 7 website (windows.mocrosoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows.....)

Turns out I have WIN7 Ultimate 64 bit and the games are all 32 bit. XP mode virtual machine is also 64 bit and also will not support the 32 bit games. Can I download and install a 32bit WIN XP virtual machine and use it to play these games? Otherwise is appears I am screwed.

I was thinking about installing some of the old MS games & using XP mode. However when I searched about this everything I found indicated XP mode was 32 bit. Does it come in both 32 bit & 64 bit, or has something recently changed?
