Counter Strike Source Lags like MAD

Ok, ive got an ATI Radeon X2600 which has played CSS on Vista and XP exeptionally with NO issues.
On windows 7 however, it always lags - my ping is 30ms.

    Have 2gb ram

im wonderign what the problem is ?

Do you mean your ping or latency?

Latency is shown on the scoreboard, and ping is shown in console by typing "ping".

And don't know what's wrong with a latency of 30ms. Mine's on everage 30ms (50ms ping average) and I play fine, though that's because of the config I use.

Latency is only measuring the connection 1 way. Ping is both ways.

Though I dunno what it could be with Windows 7. My latency/ping were the same as playing on Vista, though I did have a problem with cl_resend 2 on Windows 7 so removed that from my config.

They are only trying to suggest what i may be. In my opinion if you gave me a reponse like that i would not be willing to help you.

I am assuming that you have tried re-installing cs?
I am assuming that you are regulary checking for spyware?
I am assuming that you have checked to processes in the background?

Just because it runs fine on another os does not guarantee it will run on 7 just as good. I run cs fine, i have the odd problem with it crashing, nothing that wrecks my head. May i suggest that if it is annoying you so much then reinstall vista or whatever your previous os was. You need to realize 7 is not a finalized product. Beta software is just that beta
