No Steam Games Work on Win 7

Hi I have been playing steam games for years on my XP, but for some reason when I got Win 7 they all decided to just stop. I mean everything CSS, TF2, HL2, you name it. First it went black screen and then stopped responding, but now its just flickering across the screen so fast i cant see it and then crashing to the desktop.

    M1730 XPS Laptop
    Intel Core2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40 GHz
    Win 7 32-bit
    Model MXG071
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A10
    DirectX 11
    Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
    1280 x 1024 resolution
    VGA Drivers Fully Updated

I have also tried reinstalling steam about 5 time, reinstalled every game twice, safe mode in launch options, windowed mode in launch options. reinstalling drivers, updating drivers, and slapping a smurf out of frustration.

Please Help I'm So Sick Of This...

double check your monitor refresh rate
under display resolution for some reason win seven sets mine to 59hz instead of 60hz

but one question i have is what is the video chipset?
    Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
does not look right for some reason

steam works great for me so i reckon you have something specific to your machine giving you issues

please can you right click my computer goto properties and run the Windows Experience Index then tell us what score it gave you ?

I suspect you don't have your graphics card installed .........

Actually that could very well be the reason. Have you updated any drivers since moving to W7?

I would also advise you to update your DX9 files - Download details: DirectX Redist (August 2009)

PS - All my Steam games work fine as well under Windows 7 x64.

Your graphics card should be listed properly not as a standard adaptor. Use the guide in my sig to update your drivers.

im starting to think its a 32 bit problem cause everyone with 64 i know is fine but alot of the 32 bit users are having trouble

I used Steam with 7 RC 32 bit, and now with 64bit, I don't think it is a Windows 7 problem, I think you have to look specifically at your configuration. What games are you able to play? Either way it isn't a Steam problem, Steam is just a game browser... You only listed Source games, can you play 3d games that use different game engines?

    L4D1 & 2 doesn't work for me on win 7 Pro x84. I think it's a C++ runtime error though.
