Windows 7: Counter Strike: Source (and other steam games) aren't o

Hi, I recently installed windows 7 ultimate and everything has been running smoothly until I came across some problems with steam games. I installed CS:S and when I click on it to run the game, the window that says counter strike source is now loading comes up and then just disappears. I'm getting no error notifications. It just does not run. I also tried running audio surf but when it opens the screens all white and says its not responding. I tried running CS:S in compatibility mode (which it said was not recommended.) and I get the same result. I also tried running as an administrator, nothing there either. I have all the requirements to run the game and all current updates for my drivers. Please help. It'll be greatly appreciated!

IS DirectX and your graphic card drivers up to ate?

Yes, I made sure everything was updated.

And you have tried reinstalling steam?

Have you tried seeing if other accounts have the same problem? Try creating another account and download a demo and see if that works.

Oh, and can you fill out your specs?

I had the same problem and I uninstalled and reinstalled steam. It worked after that.
