Far Cry 64 bit Ver. - Free Patch to Upgrade from 32 bit

I almost posted this in SOFTWARE but I thought more gamers would see it here.

Far Cry 64 bit version

Did you know Far Cry came in a 64 bit version? Yep! It has Enhanced Graphics and other addons the 32 bit version does not have!

There is a patch that upgrades the 32 bit version to the 64 bit version!

This was made for XP AMD 64 bit. BUT...

I don't have an AMD processor and it works Great on my Windows 7 64 bit with my old Intel processor so it should work on any 64 bit capable chipset. I think this is because all 64 bit architecture is based on the AMD chipset and most companies chips use this or are compatible with it.. It won't hurt to try!

* You Must have a copy of Far Cry to use this. It is only a patch, not the game itself!

I recommend you have the latest 1.4 patch for the 32 bit version installed before you install this patch just to be sure you have everything up to date.

It's like playing a whole new Far Cry!

New 64 bit CONTENT for 32 Bit Systems!

Hold The Phone! I just found this patch for 32 bit.

This adds the CONTENT of the 64 bit upgrade patch to the 32 bit version of Far Cry for those who still have 32 bit processors!!

Most copies bought within the last few years will almost certainly have this patch, but I never knew there were differences between the versions, nice find.

Just a lil FYI,
AMD64
is x64 processors.
AMD was the one to first release them so it got named AMD64.

I don't think the 64 bit patch was ever shipped with a copy of the game. I think the AMD people finished it after the game was shipped and it was only offered as a download.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - most re-relases will have all the patches, I know for a fact the Sold Out version does.

I may well re-install FC now and try it.
