I'm running ETW from Steam perfectly. I am using RC 7100 for this. I have never had an error with ETW on steam.

    ram: 2gigs
    gpu: ati 4670
If I can play crysis around high level, I think I can play this game straight

the game starts and i can select an army but as soon as loading ends it crashes.

Im running windows 7 build 7600
    CPU is 860 I7 @2.8GHz
    8Gb ram
and a Nvidia Quadro FX1800 graphics card

EDIT: Rome total war works perfectly

Odd. I've never had any problems with ETW, and that's been over 2 different PC builds, a few system wipes, and the RC and RTM versions.

Have you run a file integrity check from within Steam? If not, try that.

Steam tends to be unstable. Moreover, your graphics card is bad-ish. I mean it's not that bad, but it's average.

Empire works perfectly on my machine

My graphics card shouldn't be the problem its well over the minimum requirements for the game, and in response to the quote that it is a bad card, i chose it as it is superior in other fields as i frequently use applications such as auto-cad 2010 for which the card was specifically designed, it will in fact outdo your card when it comes to those types of aplications.

Perhaps it is because im running 64 bit windows and the game was designed for 32 bit systems.

Coolness id be more than happy to build another one for you if you'd pay for parts postage and a small additional fee.

I also have the game on disk, i don't use steam.

well im not rich, i cant afford a Core i7, and i can build machines myself =P
But I dont think its a graphics issue. Also, such a new game is surely designed for 64-bit OSs as well.

    Empire TW in Windows 7

I can actually run it and it works fine, but in graphics I cant set them past Medium Quality, not even in High.
I got a new toshiba with 4GB RAM and 500 GB overall procesor intel core 2 duo.
I cant even locate my graphics card, its as if i didnt have one ro something, i tried to download and install the latest nvidia but wouldnt install them saying it couldnt find a driver or something, anyway at least i can run it in medium graphs quality.
If anyone knows more about this please send me any info to LFDCK@hotmail.com
Also its a 64 bit PC
