If you are experiencing lagg, you need to buy a new Graphics card. So buy a ATI radeon hd 4800+ or nvidia 9600+ series card. with those you will improve performance. If however its just freezing, dont buy a new card, the games are just imcompatible, and wont work no matter how much money you spend.

    First of all hello everyone!

I've heard lots of good about these games and I'd really like to try out the empire total war. The thing is.. The game says it's for windows vista and in the local game store they said that they won't refund me if the game doesn't work on my computer (windows 7) and I don't feel like paying 40€ for a game which doesn't work...

    My computer:

    Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
AMD phenom II x 3 (720 triple core processor)
    8 gb DDR3
    1 TB
ATI radeon HD 4650 (1024 mb)

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Hello, and welcome. You can check the Windows game Comp. Tread for the game, and if its listed, someone has got it to work. Good luck!

They have to refund it if it doesn't work - simple as that.

Ok I have checked various sites and all say Empire Total War is 64bit compatible.
However when I try to install as Admin, I get the error after the installing system components.
" the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"
I have tried running as administrator even though I am already logged on as admin. I have no family restrictions on this PC.

I really hope I do not need to take a step back and install the Windows XP compatibility mode.

    I have windows 64bit Professional, English. I7 3.0Ghz, Evga GTX 285 and 8Gb ram.

    empire total war

I had the same problem, it would freeze after 20-30 seconds. I rang up saga and they told me that it was proberbly the sound card driver, if you have a realtech soundcard, it may be worth looking up the new drivers as I was told some of them were a bit buggy.
    I hope this helps.
