I can't run "Age of Empire III"

Initializing the game appears the follow message: "You don't have rights to run the game. Check the configuration of Parental Control in Windows Game Explorer".

I don't have the Parental Control. My laptop has installed the Windows 7 Utimate with Domain mode for job reasons.

How I could enable the Parental Control?? Do you know some trick? Microsoft says "The parental control isn't available with Domain user". The game has ESRB of Teen.

    Please help me!

If its Domain, the laptop may have been configured by an admin, so no games.

    1) Try right clicking the file>prorperties>security>pick your user group>edit>give full control

Depending on the type of account it might work.

Otherwise you could try to take the ownership of the file using these
    {Take Ownership Shortcut
    2{
{Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums

If method 1 will not work becasue the file is greyed out,use method 2 to take ownership of the file, then try method one again.

MINOTAR, well... I have full rights of executable file. And the message is the same. I thing the problem is the Game Rating System. I read a post from some VISTA Forum, they recommend the use of "gpedit.msc", let me show you:

    1. Press the WinKey+R to bring up the Run dialog box.
    2. Input gpedit.msc.
    3. Click OK.
    4. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
    5. The Group Policy Object Editor window will appear.
    6. Under Local Computer Policy, expand Computer Configuration.
    7. Expand Administrative Templates.
    8. Expand Windows Components.
    9. Select Parental Controls.
    10. In the right pane, right-click Make Parental Controls control panel visible on a Domain.
    11. Select Properties.
    12. Select the Enabled radio button.
    13. Click OK.
    14. Close the Group Policy Object Editor.
    15. Log off of the machine, and then back on for changes to take affect.

The problem with this procedure is the 9th step. There's not exist the "Parental Controls" option.

In VISTA is possible use the Parental Control on a Domain. Why Windows 7 not?

I'm experiencing the same problem. I don't have an Domain installation, I installed a customized version of Windows 7 (Tiny7). It's just Windows 7, but tiny, so it misses some components. One of that components is Parental Control. But Age of Empires 3 doens't seem to work whitout Parental Control.

Is there any way to custom install the Parent Control component so I can finally play Age of Empire 3?
