offline game lag?

Hey. I recently got resident evil 5, fallout 3 and a few other games. I have only installed those 2 however.

Games load up, install fine, work, the cut scenes run perfectly smooth. However the issue comes in when it is time to play. The sounds are working fine when i shoot. But it has basically a lag.

I have an integrated card in my computer, my brother gave me an extra nvidia 9600 ko edition 512 he had at his house, but I have yet to install it.

Basically im wondering if installing this video card would help the performance of my games. Or if there is a way to fix this issue so I can play these games. thanks alot

So would installing hte 9600 series I have fix my issue?
