Need some help from those that know

Hi there, I recently bought my Son WCS Real 2009 and installed it on my Pc.. when it finished installing we opened it and it loaded fine until the snooker table loads with a black screen. Basically making the game unplayable for him. I checked the specs for the game against my own and everything complies with what is needed... I even went on to the games website and checked compatibility for my processor, gfx card and all ok...like I say the game loads up no worries just the tables all black and cannot see pockets just the balls on the table... I looked at the settings and the game requires pixel shader 3.0 and my card is 4.0 I have a geforce 9600gt 512mb and 6 gb ram....

Any help on this matter would be appreciated

    Hi CityLady. :)
DirectX is updated? Use this to make sure. Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? Right click the game shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab > select Windows Vista SP2 and click apply, as shown below.
    Let us know the results.

Hi thank you for your response to my problem...I have updated DX tried running it in compatible mode and still the same problem, the game works fine just the table is black and the graphics look like 3D we played around in the game to see if we could create a profile and other aspects of the game and no problems. I wish i could show you what I am trying to say as it's is probably something so trivial. The game requires pixel shader 3.0 and to be honest I'm not sure if my gfx card supports it when I look at the specs it say it supports shader 4.0 so not 100% sure if this could be the problem. you could go to the site here if you wouldn't mind

You can try updating your graphics card driver and/or the game driver, there might be a patch/update out for the game problem that someone else also had. Just a thought.

Just curious, have you contacted the store where you bought it and/or the game developer? They should sort it out for you provided you meet the game requirements and the game is legitimate...

Your card actually supports pixel shader 4.0 so you're good - GeForce 9 Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyways, have you checked to see if the game has any patches? If so, have you patched it yet?

I tried to find one but couldn't. And clicking on the publisher's website takes me to page with a bunce of links to other sites - bladeinteractive.com. Is the company out of business?

Googling for a patch - WSC Real 09 - World Snooker Championship - Google Search only shows a "NO-CD patch" which is only good for not having to install the CD, not updating the game so.....

Anyway looking at the game requirements, your system certainly supports this game.

I am not sure if they have gone out of business but the game was fairly cheap considering the prices of some...I also tried to locate a patch with only no cd being found. There is a setting box that comes up when you load the game I will post below as to what it looks like maybe there is a setting there that needs to be changed.... here is what I was saying about the settings and there are no changeable setting with in the game

A quick google shows that there don't seem to be any issues with installing this game, at least not the problem you're having. hence I suggested getting in touch with the supplier and developer. It is possible you just got a bad disc. Happens.

The Consumer Protection Act says you are entitled too a refund/replacement if the product is genuinely faulty. Know your rights! I'm in Cape Town too, what store did you get it at?
