Game issue with super lag. because of ram?

Hello all. im new to this site:) anyhow i wanted to post the issue ive been having for some time now and just cant figure it out. im 90% sure its a windows 7 issue because i was just using windows XP and didnt have as much of a problem.
    ok now for the problem......
i play an online game called DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online) that ive played for at least 3 years now. i love the game and never really had a big lag problem like i do now. ok what ive found out is, when i go out in an area with no other live players the game is ok, with no issues. however when i get into a place with many or some players the lag gets worse. the more live players the worse it gets. if you can please help. all i do is work my life away and this game is the only way i can stay sane lol

I would suspect your ram is at least a part of the problem. 2 gigs is the absolute minimum for 64bit win 7. Does the lag ever happen when you are offline?

Also, are you using the same system with a Win 7 upgrade, or a different system?
If the latter, then the CPU, RAM, and vid card may be lacking. And shut down unnecessary stuff running in the background.

I agree with Ken, it is probably a memory issue. You may also want to go to the MS site and be sure that the game is compatible with Windsow 7. If it is you may want to invest in some additional RAM. If you enjoy the game it will be a worthwhile investment.

If you prefer not to spend the money, now you may consider turning off some of the special features like Aero.

Disable Aero on Windows 7 or Vista - the How-To Geek

Your Anti Virus may be a resource hog. You may want to use another, requiring less resources. You can post in the security forum for suggestions.

Wising you a many hours of enjoyable game playing.

Ruffy, that video card is also lacking. You should try turning down graphics. That CPU is alright, but you will want to turn down any physics heavy graphics.

It may also be your network, what are you using to connect? Are you hardwired or wireless (and what type)?

heya i run win7 64bit and play this game I find with my setup all settings run happily on high, however I reckon your RAM and gfx card is going to cause lag for you

If you want to remove some of the lag keep your resolution to 1024x768 maximum and goto advanced gfx settings ingame and drop the shadow quality settings for landscape and stencil to low
