Windows 7: Call of Duty Server in Windows XP Mode?

Call of Duty Server in Windows XP Mode?

I used to run our own call of duty server so that a few of my mates plus me and the mrs can play altogether on our own maps. I did this by running the server on the laptop at that time and our main pcs to access it.

What I want to do now is to run the server in Windows XP Mode on my Windows 7, whilst connecting to it from my main Windows 7 desktop. I've tried connecting but so far been unsuccessful. I go into the console and type (without the ")...
"connect 192.168.131.65"
Which is the ip of Windows XP Mode when I type in ipconfig. I don't get a connection! My Firewall settings are unblocked so it isn't that. Does anyone have any idea how I can do this?
