Disable Capslock popups When I game, I have caps lock tied to ingame functions. The capslock popup bring me out of game, and is a pain in the but.
Anyway to disable this useless feature?

There is a way, involving the registry
Back up registry
Make a system image on a external hard drive.
(I am very careful when it comes to the regisry)
Then follow this Disable Caps Lock Key in Windows 7 or Vista - the How-To Geek | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

I didn't mean the key itself, I mean the Windows 7 popup.

I did that, about a week ago, changing it to an extra shift key......made my internet much less stressful. I have to look at the keys as I type, so at times I would look up and whole sentences would be reversed from hitting the caps lock with my pinkie by accident. I never needed the caps lock anyways. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Hi Welcome to SF,
This happen due to a process called bttray.exe. You could try this Start > Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WidcommBT > Config > General > KeyIndication KeyIndication and Change it from 1 to 0
Then reboot the Computer that might fix the problem
Hope this helps,

what make of keyboard do you use and do you have the software for the keyboard installed too? for example, i have a logitech keyboard / mouse combo and it's software is "logitech set point." within the software there are settings for disabling the volume and caps lock on screen display.
microsoft has its own software for its keyboards and there are settings within to control the same. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Rig 1 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition @ 3.4GHz (AM2+) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P (AM2+) Memory Corsair CM2X4096-8500C5 (4 X 2GB) Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5770 / Diamond Radeon HD 5770 CrossFireX Sound Card Asus Xonar DS (PCI) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 932bw+ (3) Screen Resolution 4320x900 Keyboard Logitech Desktop Wave Mouse Logitech LX8 Laser PSU Corsair CMPSU-750TX Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Corsair Hydro Series H50 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 2 80 GB - Windows 7 System --

Captain I don't seem to have that entry in the registry.

there's got to be software that runs the keyboard and key mappings... that would be, more than likely, the software you need to modify in order enable / disable the popups. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Rig 1 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition @ 3.4GHz (AM2+) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P (AM2+) Memory Corsair CM2X4096-8500C5 (4 X 2GB) Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5770 / Diamond Radeon HD 5770 CrossFireX Sound Card Asus Xonar DS (PCI) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 932bw+ (3) Screen Resolution 4320x900 Keyboard Logitech Desktop Wave Mouse Logitech LX8 Laser PSU Corsair CMPSU-750TX Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Cooling Corsair Hydro Series H50 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 2 80 GB - Windows 7 System --
