freeze lock crash in games with black screen

When I try to play games they all lock up with a black screen. The games play fine from anywhere from 30sec to 10minutes but eventually die. I have tried replacing my 5750 with a 8600gts with the same results. I have tried a fresh install of win7home prem with same results. I have tried using catalyst 9 drivers instead of the most recent 10s.
Does anyone have any other ideas? thanks in advance.

I have exact the same problem. At first I thought it is because of my graphic cards overheating but it is not. I have crossfire 3870 and I tried them without crossfire future on but still the same results. It is not hardware at all.It happens on mw2 and bfbc2 beta and on bfbc2 it happens alot more than mw2. The only way I think we can test is to see what happens on windows Vista. I dont want to do that yet because if vista does the same way I screwed and wasted all my time on it. someone help plz.

Achilles, I think I solved my problem...I was doing more testing it happened in windowed games as well but seems less prominent. I replaced the graphics card just to make sure but I also removed 2/3 sticks of my ram and I played uninterrupted for a whole hour last night so either it was ram or the vid card but I think its the ram...I'll test the other sticks one at a time later today to narrow it down but I'm thinking faulty ram or the vid card.

mesososo, I changed the ram voltage and buss of the ram manualy in the bios. I could play for more than 2 hours but eventually it crashed again but this time it was not that hard crash. I was able to close the game :). I think it is because of rams. I have 4 sticks of 1GB memory. I am running memory stability test on my system to see what is going to happen. If you find any thing that could help plz bring it up. The only problem is IDK where the heck this problem is coming from. If I knew where is the problem I definitely could fix it. Just trying to find the problem. If you got any good progress please inform me. THX for helping and I am glad that you finally could play video game for an hour.

I got all the ram back into my computer and it is still working flawlessly...even when it was operating with the wrong timings on teh ram. It turns out it was the brand new video card giving me all the grief..and the old must have gotten messed up somehow when I removed it out of the computer because everything is working fine now fullscreen :) Maybe try taking out one of your video cards at a time to see if it's one of them. good luck.

I removed one of my video card and I think you are right ! the problem is from one of my video cards. One of my video cards just turn of monitor after like 20 mins of gaming. But it works perfect at windows. I am still testing these bad boys to make sure problem is not from some where else.
