    Bioshock 2 recommended specs

Here are the recommended specs for Bioshock 2, most likely unlikely to change by the release date of February 9th:

    Recommended:
    • Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Dual Core 2.60Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Dual Core 2.13Ghz
    • Memory: 3GB
    • Graphics: NVIDIA 8800GT 512MB graphics card or better, ATI Radeon HD4830 512MB graphics card or better

    Other Requirements:
    • Initial installation requires one-time internet connection.
    • Ability to save game, earn achievements, receive title updates and online play requires log-in to Games for Windows LIVE.
    • Software installations required including Microsoft Visual C++2008 Runtime Libraries, Games for Windows LIVE client, Games for Windows LIVE Client Patch, Sony DADC SecuROM, Microsoft DirectX.

The 3GB of RAM implies x64 optimisation, and my 4890 should have no trouble maxing out the settings @ 1080p, give or take the filtering options. Note that the engine is Unreal v2.5, but any weak laptops and integrated GPU's will die, so don't bother.

I won't have a problem running it, thank god. This is the most excited I've been for a game in a long time.

That 250 may choke @ 1080p - some of the options might be reduced slightly.

Yeah, I've got a 9800 GTX+ as well, and I know that they can SLI together...but my freaking mobo supports Crossfire, not SLI. Guess I'll just have to run it in a slightly lower resolution.

Either way, it's the gameplay that I'm looking forward to.

Agreed and these 800 shaders here @ 850MHz no doubt will help my performance, along with a 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 3.9GHz - stock.

Got this today and it runs perfect on my system on max detail. Must say this game is something special, very disturbing and I like the fact you play as one of the big daddies. I never managed to play the first one as I had that on xbox 360 and it RRoD on me.

Bioshock 1 is the MUCH better game. Better story, longer gameplay, slightly better graphics.

    I had a thread on BS2 here - So I bought Bioshock 2 - Special Edition….

Thats a few years off yet though. It should be good as you play a female protagonist this time round, maybe a big sister?

no, you play as some guy that has to rescue like a teenage chick from the top of some tower or something and like some kind of big daddy has been protecting her for years and she has like psionic abilities or something..
Pretty much it except the "chick" has been isolated by her mother until you come along and rescue her. You "used" to be her protector

Anyway decent game, though nowhere as good as the first game. My opinion.

I am not talking about Bioshock 2, I am on about Bioshock Infinity that you play as a female.
