    Quake 4 Sound issue

I have an Asus P5K motherboard with an on-board Realtek sound card. I managed to get the surround sound working by installing the Vista 64 bit driver on Win 7 Pro 64 but the sound menu in Quake 4 warns me the my sound card is not OpenAL compatible.

What does this mean? Should I try to run the game in Vista compatibility mode? The main issue I have is that I can't turn off the music, as that part of the menu is greyed out.

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Just found the 12/02/2010 version of the driver, will try that tonight.

    Thanks!
