    MW2 for PC NAT Problem

MW2 has been working fine when hosting games, until now. A few days ago, the router was having problems (WRT54G v4.0, was on DD-WRT), so I reset all of the settings. I then restored it back to the stock firmware (from DD-WRT), which a lot of you will probably think is crazy. I just don't need DD-WRT.

MW2 used to tell me that my NAT is "OPEN", but now it says it's "STRICT". I have UPnP enabled. Anything else I should try? If I have to, I'll go back to DD-WRT.

You need to check what ports are assigned to Steam/MW2. Certain ports allow inbound/outbound access while others allow restricted access and you just need to assign the port number to port forwarding. Here's a great link on NAT, how to do port forwarding, and what ports Steam/MW2 use:

Thanks for the reply. I'll just stick DD-WRT back onto the router, since I know UPnP and stuff works the way it should on it.

I went back to DD-WRT since it actually does have some features that I'm looking for.

I figured it out: The UPnP service wasn't enabled. Enabled it, rebooted the router, and BOOM! NAT is OPEN.
