OS, just enough, emulators, possible stutter. The HDD is vital - 7 is constantly indexing and programs will start up faster along with 7 with a better spin speed. There is no excuse for not getting a 7200RPM drive. The difference in cost for Toshiba would be trivial. Take a look at the ultraportable in my specs - I have no issues with 7, apart from the 2 GPU's and lack of new drivers.
Yeah, the problem is, I live in a small town, and the local stores don't exactly sell high-end laptops. The Toshiba Satellite A500-1DN comes with a GT 230, the most powerful graphics card in town. This is the only laptop I can buy.
But, if 7 works fine with it, I'm okay with it.
Yeah, I know, but this one should do for a couple of years.
