any uk/euro players are very welcome on my clan's servers:

    *Mine* BC2 conquest: 193.93.45.165 port 19577 both 32 player

unlike our bf2 servers, these are no rules, all out frag.

Another patch was released today as well:

This is a small update for a bug that was found the same day that we released the previous patch.

    Changes:
    • Server browser downloads 100 entries instead of 500 in a chunk – this makes the “Cancel” button more responsive
    • Fixed crash during server browser refresh
    • Low-level networking library switched back to the optimized version (the game client was temporarily running with one that had more debugging logic in it)
    • Localization fixes in the scoreboard
    • Server browser ping handling code modified

UPDATE: Patch is live as of 2010-03-22 16:13 GMT.

    Hi,

just started playing BC2 and after reading the much hipe about "You can't play this like other games, you need to work as a SQUAD to win!" it seems that the servers I have been on everyone is doing the classic thing of, me myself and my gun and scr*w anyone else.

With the Q key being a very dummed down rose key it seems that unless you are using VIP you really arnt going to play any other style.

Even my Squad chat seemed to not get any response.

I maybe new to BC2 but have enough skill to take on most, is this just me (arrhhh) or is this premis just that a premis and not a reality.

i used to play infantry-only bf2 a lot (a couple of thousand hours over the years ), which taught me the importance of co-operative teamwork. in such frenetic close-quarter combat, you would always be running out of ammo, running low on health, or being in need of some quick defibrillation.

the same is true or even more so of bc2 - four of you working together as a unit will be much better placed to attack, defend, take flags and heal/revive/resupply each other. you become a much more effective combat unit if you all work and stick together. one of the best improvements over bf2 is the fact that you can now spawn on any squad-member, the captain doesn't have to worry so much about keeping out of harm's way...

that's one of the main reasons why i joined a gaming clan, to encourage regular squadding up with buddies, rather than with a bunch of random lone-wolfers. it's much more fun being and talking together with like-minded gamers.

i agree with your dumbed-down Q key remark - there's not even a way to quickly say 'thanks' if someone's fixing your tank up for you! console-dumbed-downisation?

get a mike, use voip a lot, find a good well-admined server with regular players, and join in the fun!

An old clanmate of ours has a Cali server =AoU= HC California is the name of it I think. We just moved ours from Chicago to one in Dallas. That POS in Chicago would drop after a couple hours of hard gaming. The new one is rock solid. I think the new banner is below. Come play anytime.

I also started playing, name is InternetSecurity and looking for good servers. I've noticed in the past few days a lot of aimbotters being banned. The only problem I have with this game is browsing for servers which seems like it takes forever and once I find one I can't add to my favorites...it just sits there with a message "waiting for information" is anyone else dealing with this? Thanks

Welcome to the club. One of these days they will get that fixed, till then have to do it the old fashioned way (pen and paper if the memory isn't up to it) and write down the servers you like, put up with the slow server search and then locate it from the list.

Also if you look into it enough it appears there is also a bug in the favorites and History that even when they do work, it is limited to 6 servers in the list only, any more than 6 and the extras are greyed out as if the server was offline.

Edit: Just had a thought about something I saw elsewhere regarding the broken Favorites. For anyone that has theirs actually working (or even just a couple in it) for any of the servers that have been listed in this thread go to,

    C:\Users\Your Name\Documents\BFBC2

and open the GameSettings.ini in Notepad, scroll down to the bottom and if any of the servers are listed (will look like this, 1742552947,fc7d5c02-1a9a-4f5c-8e37-3fa70c220e40,LegionAtWar Hardcore Conquest; ) under "FavoriteGames=" or "RecentGames=", if could post them here then those of us that it won't work at all can add them manually.
