    LOTRO Windows 7 Problem

    Hello guys,

I have recently switched to Windows 7 32 bit, It's gr8 not to count that i get some problems related to LOTRO.

I get crashes in kinda every hour duration, the screen just freezes and the program doesn't respond.

I believe it is some kind of DX10 related issue cause when I just turn off DX10 settings it works fine without crashes.

I have looked through other threads on this forum as well as on LOTR official site but no luck. The common problems included : Launching LOTRO client twice, temprorary freezes, but none of my kind.

Hope you got the solution for me I like DX10 graphics

    Thanks in advance !

Filling in your system specs would help us a great deal.
What kind of Graphics card do you have? CPU,MOBO,RAM?
Otherwise we are just stabbing in the dark here.

    Most common things to check:

Are your drivers up to date?
    Graphics, Chipset, sound?

Update your Direct X files here:
    Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

What version of the Nvidia drivers are you using? There is a problem reported with the 196.75 versions so if you have them, you should revert back to the 196.21.

What resolution are you running the game at and what quality level are you using? If your running ultra, try lowering to very high to see if that helps.

I'm running a GTX 260 on win 7 64 bit and have never had a lock up.

One thing you can do to prevent the double launching is after you sign in and the screen goes black to switch to the game, just click your mouse on the black window to set the focus on the game. You have to be quick to do this but if you can get the click in, it should help. At least it has for me.

The thing is that crashes usually happen when loading a new area, when u kind of change the area fast. ( after taking a swift travel, or using a map back, hunter skill etc..) and is often followed by displaying white surface instead of hills, grass, pillars , ground and invisible bridges (in Rivendell) and then.. BINGO.
FPS is quite normal when running on DX10, 60 usually, I still got the GTX 280 card, which should be able
to cope with the DX10 without problem. But still the problem remains
