To be honest, if you have enough RAM then you don't need to do anything.
I use 8Gb and the OS only uses 1Gb. :)
    Also a good enough video/graphic card. :)

I've found my games to run a little bit smoother, and that is with a 8800GTX and 4 gigs of ram (not all 4 gigs, im runnin 32 bit). No hard numbers to show though.

A great little program that is easy and fast!

Don't use GameBooster, it is a windows ACPI hacking program to cause players to be ahead of others in online play. PB will ban your hardware hash for using it, but it takes a few kicks first before that. If that happens, you will have to buy a entire new computer to play any game using PB. It also has an embedded virus fyi. If you want better performance, upgrade your video card or ram, not hack your windows API!!!

Not a liar, try BF2, you WILL BE BANNED...and if you arn't, try playing with PB enabled and on PS streaming server dumbass. I know what I am talking about, because my old computer struggled playing newer games, so I used that program to boost my performance, which did work, then my hardware ID kept getting zapped until I removed GameBooster...and that program has not changed versions in years.
Punkbusters notation on the kick: "You have modified your Windows ACPI function and have performed an illegal modification of the game content." (which I didn't because I go ape with cheaterS) Which GameBooster modifies the windows acpi function. Do the math!!!!

I am HIGHLY skeptical it does anything performance-beneficial at all. Benchmarks or bust.

I find most of these "boost" programs are very dubious. Whether it's boosting your gaming, your windows, cleaning your registry, or so forth. Most of these don't actually do anything -- at all. They'll tweak a setting or two, but the performance improvement is zero.

Most of them do include some form of malware as well too. I remember seeing a TV ad for an anti-virus program on late night. It was for a known malware product masquerading as anti-virus. I've seen registry boosters and other performance enhancers who were also like this -- just malware. What's worse is some would report hundreds of settings wrong with your computer, and then give you a link to enter your credit card information for their fix for the problems.

In short, most if not all of these types of programs are S C A M S ! I can say that with confidance after working in IT for 19 years. Granted, one or two of them are legit and do make some useful tweaks, but even these improvements are well documented adjustments one could make by visiting any reputable site. For instance try TweakXP and TweakWin7. Of course, you could also read a book on the matter instead of just being a "script kiddie" (yes, I know the label is technically incorrect but it's close enough).

Listen, dumbass. Game Booster exited beta just 10 days ago, so i don't know where you are getting the not updated in years.

All the program does is close a few services not required for gaming and gives you an option to close additional programs. I really don't see where it makes changes to windows and injects itself in your game.

I too have iobit game booster and your right it did exit the beta stage and is now v1. you are also correct in saying it closes non needed services and gives you the option to close AV, sidebar etc etc. Punkbuster has nothing to do with it because I have been able to play all my games glitch free online. Heres to happy gaming, cheers.
