Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

    Hello all!

I just re-installed the game and I'm trying to get to work. I'm getting an error message that says that it's looking for DX9c files. I have DX11 installed. Is there a patch or workaround that will enable the game to work on DX11?

Thanks for any help that you can give

Just download and install the latest DX9c. nothing to worry about and it'll be fine

Contrary to popular belief even though Windows 7 is DX11 capable, you STILL need to update the DX9 files. And Microsoft continues to update all the DX files so updates are still in order.

Try the web installer first - Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime. if you have issues getting it to update, then download the entire 104MB file here Download details: DirectX Redist (February 2010)

    Good luck.

    Link would help,

Download details: DirectX Redist (February 2010)

P.S. It hasn't been called the DX 9 update in a couple of years, it is now just the DirectX End-User Runtimes followed by the month and year of release (in the case of the link above, February 2010). It also contains all the updates for DX 9, 10 and 11, and will oly install the parts that are applicable to the OS (DX9 only on XP, 9/10/11 on 7, and 9/10 on Vista and 11 as well if the system update has been applied).

    Also need to type faster.

This download will not corrupt the DX11 that is already installed, and it won't force it to revert to DX9c?

No it won't. What it does will update the existing DX11 files, and add/update any missing DX9 and DX10 files.
