will my laptop be ok emulating a ps2 game (legal) ive heard that it could burn out while running the game?

Your only concern should be heat. You can keep an eye on it with 3rd party apps cpu-z, and gpu-z. Both are free.

what is your cpu speed? depending on its speed it will work fine, it shoudl be about 3.1+ ghz for strong good play.

Don't bother on a laptop. It will run miserably. PCSX2 needs a fairly powerful computer to emulate games.
