Conquerors Multiplayer issues

Hi all

Yes I know there are 1000 other threads saying the same thing, but to date and several weeks of reading, I am still unable to come up with a solution.

I have upgraded to Windows 7 32-bit from Vista and am now unable to play multiplayer AOE Conquerors connecting via lan or internet TCP. The other pc is running XP, of which initially we had some problems connecting games with Vista, however eventually I figured this out and we played happily for a couple of years until now.

I have tried absolutely everything suggested, forwarding ports, running as administrator, compatibility with everything from XP SP2 to Vista etc, turning off firewalls, still no luck.

If there is anything I have missed, I would really appreciate some feedback .

P.S. I do not have the colour issues mentioned as I have resolved these... thanks.

Are you by chance using homegroup for networking? Homegroup uses IPv6 which on some systems causes problems. If you are you can verify if that is the problem by setting up a new network connection using the "workgroup" model. If it works you can then disable IPv6 and kill homegroup

Let us know if you need help

Hi Ken

No, I checked and I am not using homegroup for networking. Any other ideas?

I know you said you turned off firewalls, but what antivirus do you use? I know ESET has real time file protection, and will still annoy me when I disable traffic monitor, aka firewall, and the other thing it has. I have to manually disable it in settings to get things passed it that it dislikes.

Hi, I use Bullguard, which is also what I was using when I used to be able to connect, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem. I'm tending to think it has something to do with the router, however I have tried every scenario that has ever been posted, but to no avail.
