Dungeon Keeper 2 on x64

I've read about a few people getting this to work properly on Windows 7 64-bit but with their settings my game crashes right after the opening video (as it does without compatibility as well). I also tried creating a shortcut with the -32biteverything param. Any input? Thanks!

Have you tried a VM? What about Dos-Box?

I know I could get it to work in a VM, but I'd rather not have to if there is another solution. Also, DK2 was for Windows, not DOS... should I still try DOSBox?

Hello,

This is what I did;

Install game normally,
Patch the game to the latest version (1.70 I think). If it crashes a lot while playing, you can try the more stable 1.6 patch (it was something like 1.6 don't remember).
Right click Dungeon Keeper2 shortcut and set compatibility mode to Windows2000 (others don't work).

Did you try these things?

By the way DosBox is worthless for Windows applications.

Kind Regards,

Justin

Dungeon Keeper 2 in Windows 7
I know this has been done to death, but anyway... While I'm playing the game, I'll get crashed back to the desktop about every 20-40mins, so I'm having to obsessively save. In addition, now when I try to start the game up, I get as far as the splash screen, then the game keeps minimising...

Dungeon Siege II on LAN with XP no go ?
Just a question for all the game pros: I try to set up a lan connection with an XP (SP3) machine which worked just fine when I had Vista. We get as far as that: No matter who hosts, the other one just can't join (meaning you click JOIN and nothing happens) Firewalls are opened, we can ping each...

Dungeon Siege on Windows 7
I've looked into the threads on the Compatibility page, but it didn't really go into detail on how to make Dungeon Siege work on Windows 7. My problem is that the game will start up and run, but the graphics are a bit screwy when wanting to play/make characters. It does this weird "flash and lag"...

Dungeon Keeper 1 Gold
I tried most compatibility, + 3d versions of the game. I can't seem to start it. The game goes to the first screen with The horned reaper on it, then it minimises into a 1/8 black screen in the top left and then 10 secs later dissappears into nothing. I don't want to run this game in...
