    Trouble with Rome Total War

Hi guys, sorry if there's already a post regarding this game but I cba to search the forum. Basically I installed the game but when I click on the .exe program files, the game loads but then immeadiately takes me back to desktop.

I have the most recent drivers for my graphics card, etc and I am using the 64-bit version of windows 7. Any help appreciated, cheers

Edit: After having left the game open for about half an hour, I was able to actually click on the window and start a game but then went back to desktop for something and it is now not working again

Have you tried running as administrator and/or compatibility mode?

Is the game fully patched and up to date ? Never know, maybe there could have been an update amongst them for this issue.

I just tried updating the game and it works sometimes now, more than before, yet when I go into the options menu it still says in the top corner that it's version 1.0, not 1.3 or 1.5 when I have installed both patches (in the correct order)
