how to get black bars in cs:s

hi

wonder if anyone could tell me how to get these black bars on wide screen like this guy: YouTube - Copenhagen Games 2010 - Team Alternate Warmup

You might get more help on the Steam forums I think, but from the top of my head, if you have an Nvidia card, you might be able to do something like set the resolution to 4:3 and set the resolution. And in Nvidia control panel, set monitor scaling to do not scale.

If you have a Radeon card, then there will most likely be a scaling option in the CCC as well.

Now I read it, that didn't make all that much sense what I said as I typed it in a hurry, lol.

A better explanation is, set the aspect ratio within CSS to 4:3, and set the resolution to what you want. Then in the graphic control panel, set the monitor scaling to not scale, so hopefully it doesn't stretch to fill your monitor, but keep it within the aspect ratio you've set.

i found out that i could scale my monitor, but it doesnt look pretty good. :/
