WoW Going Beserk
I bought my current PC about 2 months ago...an EMachine with the following stats:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Athlon II X2 235e Dual-core processor
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE Integrated graphics card
DVD Super Multi drive
750 GB HDD
6 GB DDR2 ram
HP vs15 Flat Screen monitor (had from other computer)
...and a host of other nonsense. I upgrade the graphics card to a NVIDIA GeForce GT 220, and when that started having issues I upgraded the power supply to one with 450-575W. Everything was going fine till a week ago. I'm an avid World of Warcraft player, and lately when I play it goes fine for about 20-30 minutes, then the screen goes black, the audio turns into a long "ERRRRRRR" sound, then the monitor shuts off. The odd thing is that the PC doesn't restart...it looks and sounds like it's still running, but there's no audio and the monitor isn't getting a signal. I was reccomended to try switching the power supply from 110V to 220V, but then the computer doesn't turn on. I also updated the graphics card driver from NVIDIA's website, since apparently Device Manager for Windows 7 misses some updates. I thought that fixed the problem, but it started again. Has anyone had this problem? I'm thinking it's either the graphics card (again...this one is a replacement), the power supply, or possibly an overheating issue, but I'd prefer more expert advice if anyone has some. Would be much appreciated.
