Wit's End over performance issues
Ok, so I'm going to go insane over this computer.
I have a year old Asus laptop that about a week or two ago started experiencing slowdowns while gaming. At first I thought it was a internet related issue, as I was on wireless and I was seeing pings of 300ish (I had these pings for a while, no slowdown, so I never worried about it). I tried to wire the laptop into the router, no effect, and I reduced the ping to about 30 m/s by gutting SafeEyes from my computer.
Next, I updated all the drivers on the computer and got all the windows updates to no effect. I lowered the graphics settings on my games, no effect. The only thing that seems to help is to shut off the computer, and upon startup I can get about 30mins of uninterrupted play before I get the first slowdown, at which point they start up.
It happens regardless of online/offline play, and I currently experience it on Savage 2, Heroes of Newerth, and Black & White 2. I'm reinstalling World of Warcraft to see if it suffers from the issue. Normal programs don't seem to suffer, and I can play a N64 emulator with no problem (maybe not a graphics specific problem).

I'll try anything. Maybe something is physically slowing it down? Dirt or overheating?
