Windows 7: Fifa 09: PC vs PS3

i'm flabbergasted by how good the PS3 version looks (and plays) in comparison to the PC version of FIFA 09.



the official EA statement reads "If the architecture was identical to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, FIFA 09 on PC would only be accessible to 1-3% of the PC systems on the market."

i think EA could have spent some time programming so that the game could offer graphic options that catered to both high-end and mid-range PCs. i'm not at all happy with their excuses. more than anything else, this edition of FIFA seems to make a complete mockery of PCs that have the capacity to handle the instructions that a PS3 Cell processor does.

also the PS3 uses a GPU for graphics processing much like our PCs... the cell processor is used for computing physics and other game play elements (from what i've read). i don't know if the core 2 duo series or equivalent AMD processors could handle the same tasks as a PS3 Cell processor with the same level of proficiency but i assume they would fare no worse. at least, not by much.

EA is rubbish when it comes to looking after their PC gaming community. I remember 08 having console button commands for the PC tutorial videos. They simply wont put in the time to make a product specifically for the PC. And their excuses are indeed pathetic.

I have been a little disappointed myself... and i'm not and never have been a PES fan either... hopefully they will redeem themselves with WC 2010

FIFA 09 > Pro Evo 2009, never thought I would say that....but FIFA 09 for me plays a much better game.....

Saw the PS3 version the other day and I have to say I was in pure shock - the PS3 version has 99% of all my complaints about the PC version fixed. PC players are effectively bankrolling dev on the PS3!

In PC my preference is PES2009, much better than FIFA09. In consoles i think FIFA is em great advantage now. EA should launch the same version for PC e consoles

The difference in games performance and looks between the a console and a decent gaming rig have nothing to do with technology. The PS3 is pretty aged these days actually.

The real reason a game will suck on the PC is that the developers made it for the console and the "port" to the PC was a lame after thought, done through emulators or other poor translations to PC graphics engines.

ALL games I've played on the PC I bought because they were PC type games as opposed to console type games and over all, all the PC games look and play far better. But that is because they are made for the PC and if there is a port to a console then THAT is the port.

I could be mistaken but I have heard that the PC version is a port of the PS2 version which would explain the differences(they did the same for the new one I think). And yes, EA Sports don't give a damn about PCs. They should honestly pull a Madden for all their sports games and keep them on the consoles if they are going to be pulling crap like this imho

Yes, the version for PC is a port of the PS2.
