Not showing game controller in w7

    Hi All,

I'm starting to pull my hair out.

I have a play.com 2in1 PS2 - USB adapter (Joytech JS-909A) and PS2 controller that I know is fully functional and W7 does not want to show it in the game controllers settings.

When I plug it in I hear the W7 noise and it install a generic driver but when I go to select it in the game control settings nothing is there.

Can someone please help me to get W7 to recognise it so I can use this.

    Thanks
    RAD

    Hi RAD,

This site looks to have a driver that might work, but install at your own risk: Reabo.co.uk :|: Making A USB Playstation Adaptor Compatible With Vista

    HI Walker,

Downloaded, scanned and installed, plugged in my controller and adapter and it did not show up in the Game Controllers. Also I don't seem to have Game Controllers in my control panel, is that a problem? I have been finding it by searching so far.

Looking in device manager it seems to have installed a Microsoft driver again when I plugged it in rather than using the one I just installed.

    Any other suggestions?

Hmm.. is your adapter the exact same one pictured on that website? I really don't have any other ideas... for what it's worth I tried to install my SIXAXIS the other day but Win7 wasn't cooperating. Don't give up though, someone usually comes along to keep the thread alive :)

Hello RADICAL, I was having the same problem finding the Game Controller settings as well. Check in "Devices and Printers" that's where I found it on mine.

I have the SmartJoy USB to PS2 adapter and the driver provided in the link posted here worked for me. I'm running 64-bit Windows 7. Thank you WalkerA for the link.
