    Halo: Combat Evolved


    I've been running Halo fine on my computer until today. Now it crashes straight to desktop; doesn't even go through the intial 'budgie' et al animations.

    The only thing that has changed since yesterday is that I've got a new monitor. I had a 19" crt @ 1680x1200 res. I now have a 23" ips screen with a natural res of 1900x1080.

    Could this be the problem and if so, how do I get around it?

    Actually ... don't worry! A simple un/reinstall solved the problem... to my second (D:/ games) drive may also of helped.

Hello there, hopefully someone can help me with this. My problem is, I can't update halo Combat Evolved, the update starts and opens 'chktrust.exe' which proceeds to crash and stops the update. I've searched google and microsoft answers, and the KB articles related to halo, with no luck at all....
So I installed it from my original copy that was just lying around, got it updated to the latest version 1.0.9, tried to run it, and it crashes.
