Splinter Cell: Conviction Problems. Help needed!

Now these are my system specs:

    Intel i3 530
    RAM: 2GB DDR3
    GPU: 1GB HD 5770
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Now the error I get is that during system validation the error it gives is that "2GB RAM minium required".

This happens despite me already having 2GB RAM.

Is there anyway to get past this problem? When I click on "continue anyway" it then goes black and then comes back to the desktop.

What can I do? Is there anyway I can increase Virtual Memory?

Please help me because I really want to play this!

    Hi eshaan,

Have you tried disabling Aero, or running SCC in XP Mode instead of Windows 7? The system requirements are lower for XP.

    Cheers,

    Eshaan,

I believe your problem lies with your RAM and system architecture. Windows 7 64 bit requires a minimum of 2Gb of RAM to function. Since you meet the bare minimum, you can run it. However, this seems to be causing problems when you encounter something needing more memory.

    Let me test something:
Open up the resource monitor, and look at RAM used when system is IDLE, then RAM used when playing a game.
Then TURN OFF AERO (as Walker suggested) and do the same thing.

    What happens?

I suspect that your performance (in game) will increase. I still recommend that you get at least another 2Gb of RAM to make full use of your system. That is ultimately your choice though.

    Hey

    Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I had first tried the XP mode but as I said in the Virtualisation thread it lagged like crazy.

So I did a dual boot of Windows XP with 7 and now the game in running in XP since the requirements for XP are 1 GB ram

Also needed XP for some other phone related drivers which work better in XP than in 7.

There are MTP USB drivers for the phone which don't install or create problems in Vista and 7 because of the higher Windows Media Player present.

And I din't want to uninstall and then reinstall WMP 12 on my 7 so I just installed the phone drivers on my XP. ANd it's working much better there!
