    Modern Warfare 2

Anybody getting crashing or shutdowns during gameplay of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2? My occurs at the level inside the White House, I think, and you use the Javelin to destroy helicopters and ground tanks. Afterwards you have a minute or so to get out and head to the roof where a helicopter is waiting.

Nope, no crashing, bugs or freezes for me but... you would get better answers if you were to tell us your computer specs, it could be your computer, outdated video or sound drivers, memory related, heat related, etc, etc.

None here. Is this routine (every time) shutdown and only occurs in MW2?

Sounds like a glitch or a patch issue. Do you have the latest patch and have you checked the extensive "glitch" lists available at many forums?

Nope, but I dont play singleplayer anymore.
However I am getting the generic 'new playlist is available, will download now' when in multiplayer.
It'l do this once, maybe twice a day. Somehow I dont think they release these 'updates' that often that quickly so it might have something to do with it not saving...?

I found the problem. My computer was overheating due to dust filled fans. I usually don't have an issue but it's been very hot the last couple of days here in NY and the room where my computer resides was very hot. A/C hasn't come on yet. After doing a thorough spraying of all the fans, particularly the heat sink and the filter that resides underneath the fan, my problem was solved.

Odd that it always seemed to crash at that point; guess by the time you hit the WH the heat was just right to shut it down. Glad you're good to go.

You can say that again. I was a little worried there. I thought I would have to do some major money spending to fix the problem. I have the console versions of MW and Battlefield Company 2, but the PC versions looks so much better, that's why I had to resolve this issue. I can just imagine how Crysis 2 is going to look!!!
