Xbox 360 Controller not working. Code 43. Please Help.

Please Help, I have been stuck with this issue for a few days and can not figure it for the life of me...

For some reason when I plug in my Xbox360 controller into my computer, I get the
    error message saying

    "USB Drive not recognized"

    followed by the device status

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I have no idea how to fix this problem, and whats weird is that I have never had this issue before. Usually all I need to plug it in and it works.

So if one of you guys can help me out that would be great. Thanks.

    My system

    OS: Windows 7

    Computer make: Toshiba Satellite A205-S5859

    Welcome Theone0581.

Do you have any other usb devices plugged in?

Have you tried it in another usb port?

Have you checked usb are still enabled in the bios?

You could try removing your USB controllers, then rebooting. They will reload again after startup.

Click 'Start' > Right-click 'Computer' > Select 'Manage'
    Click 'Device Manager'
On the right, expand 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'
Right-click and remove each one and reboot your computer.

After startup, your USB controllers should reload, plug in your mouse and test.

You may also want to try and removing all power(including battery) for a couple of minutes then put them back in. You will be surprised what this can do sometimes.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I tried all of the above trouble shooting options, but I was not able to get it to work. Any other suggestions?

Hi, Theone - can you share what you did that resolved the problem?

I'm in the same boat except that it has never worked for me - I have only seen this same error.

    Thanks

I recently bought a xbox controller for my PC...according to the install instructions the drivers for the controller need to be installed BEFORE you actually connect the control pad to the PC.
At least thats what I did and have had no issues with it..other than the fact it sucks compared to a keyboard and mouse to use.

    Hi there,

Could you specify your computer OS? Then I could try and help you with the computer-Xbox controller issue :)
