Haven't seen a great deal about this game but anything I have seen leads me to believe it wont be great.

One of the main writers for GTA4 is on the project so you should be able to guess what sort of style it is.

RPG eh. IF this can beat GTA 4,saints row 3,just cause 2. then im in :)

Have not played GTA4 nor Saints row3, hence, why I was asking for a little review if any of you guys had already played the game.
Tried Just caused 2 and although I had a little fun grapple-hooking myself across some roofs and the world is very nice, the game is way to arcade-ish for me. I am done with the game that require me to unload 2 or 3 magazines of bullets so I can kill the ai, regardless of whether I hit them in the head or not.
Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to kill someone with 1 shot, unless of course that shot is right between the eyes but I also don't expect to unload a full clip only to be killed myself from the same guy... I like to take FPS games for adults a little more serious than that, more so when there is cursing and adult situations.
Now, if I am playing Lego Star Wars with my daughter then sure... let the arcade-ish fun begin :)

Personally I love GTA IV and Saints Row 2 so if it was anything like that I'd give it a go. However, Alpha Protocol seems to be getting pretty average reviews, in and around the 6/10 mark. I always take reviews with a pinch of salt but the current scores and the fact I don't know of any other games the studio who developed it have produced doesn't lead me to think it's going to be anything special. From what I've seen of it myself it doesn't look to hot.

and i personally still love gta san andreas because of the storyline and the gameplay, ill put aside the graphic for a while. Still im quite sad with gta 4 since they remove the "hot coffee" . Just cause 2 is okay..map is very large to be explored but the gameplay quite poor. Forgot to mention about Godfather game. Nice game too

I just picked this up an have only put in a little time on it, but I'll give you what I've experienced.
While they keep marketing this as an RPG, it plays like a third person shooter. As you level you can apply points to various skills like martial arts, stealth, weapons proficiency, etc. which will give you more talents and special abilities. For example at a certain stealth level you gain the ability to move silently for a short time, another level you can remain invisible for a few seconds, and so on. Lots of weapons and upgrades can be purchased and found on missions, as well as tech like EMP grenades, remote mines, sonic distractors, and more. Excursions are mission based, so no free roaming. And while some missions can be tackled in the order of your choice, it's pretty linear. Dialogue direction is chosen like Dragon Age or Mass Effect but it's timed so you have to respond under pressure. As for how it affects game progression I haven't seen enough to comment.
The two main complaints I have so far is the field of vision seems too narrow, to the point that I came away from the first session with a headache, and sometimes the AI is just pants-on-head stupid. They stay in cover while you flank them and don't move while you whittle down their health, they seem to forget you if you run around a corner...just not up to par with what we're accustomed to. Also, there is this whole "action location" thing where you can take an action from a certain location marked by an arrow, like climbing a wall or jumping down from a ledge. This means that while your character can jump down off a ledge at a certain point, he can't jump down from the same ledge at any other point. Not a big deal but it does seem silly when you can't climb a half height wall here, yet you just jumped a similar wall five minutes ago over there. I guess that's three complaints and I guess I can't count.
I'm kind of torn on it so far. I like some of it but I went into it really wanting to like it so I may be biased, and honestly I have mildly enjoyed it up to this point, but it seems like it was just poorly executed. As for the RPG thing, I'd maybe class it as slightly less RPG than say Mass Effect 2. I haven't experienced the glitches the reviewers are talking about apart from getting stuck in a wall once, but again I haven't played much yet.
Hope I could help.

First off I want to say I haven't played the game, but from the reviews I've read and the video clips I've watched this is not an RPG, its an Action/RPG. If you want to play some really kick ass Action/RPG's then take a look at Mass Effect 2 if you haven't already tried it (game of the year status). Also Fallout 3 is really good also when its not all bugged up. I've tried Just Cause 2 but like you I really couldn't get into it, the voice acting, the music, the unleashing clips of death into AI's dome only to get killed my self all felt really aggravating so I finally called it quits. So give those two games a shot and leme know what ya think!

I agree with mass effect 2,finished playing it already back then. i'd say its ok and since everything and every choice you made affect your journey. I'm just sad that at the end of my game mirinda died. LOL. Same goes in fallout 3,im just tired to walk very far. no vehicle, all on feet. Dead Space is ok too you know. I f you Fallout 3 and Mass effect 2 lovers. I recommend METRO 2033 with DX11,DX10 is okay too. Best game so far
