Pranksterz: No Rest For The Wicked

This game... will not run. I have installed both Russian and English copies and they both will not run. This is the setup dialog that pops up when the game is started-

I have tried every setting combination possible and the game refuses to start. All I get are 2 popup boxes with gibberish, as those bits of text weren't translated properly, so I have no idea what the error is. My only guess is that the game has some unusually high video requirements that my card can't match(though why a Neighbors From Hell clone would have higher specs than Half-Life 2 is beyond me) or it requires a specific video card.

Compatibility settings offered nothing. I still get the same 2 gibberish popup windows.

The RussObit-M site lists the original Russian version as 12/2007 and this is a GFI translated copy.

System Requirements:
  • Windows 2000/XP/Vista
  • Processor 800 MHz +
  • RAM 256 Mb
  • 32 Mb Video card DirectX 9.0c
I can think of 1 of 2 possibilities-

* the game doesn't like my video card
* the game doesn't like DX10
