How to adjust processors for EQ2

    Hello

Since you are all so helpful I thought this would be the perfect place to get help.

I have a quad processor and I am playing Everquest 2. I remembered when I first got my dual processor that I would get a speed bug a nice soe tech guy explained to me how to turn off one of the processors to help stop the bug until they could get a more permenant fix and make the game compatiable for dual cores. Now with my quad processor I notice alot of erractic play so I figured that since EQ2 isn't really compatiable with quad cores that shutting it down to 2 quads would help with the erractic play. So I asked in the forums and they said yes it would help. They told me of some link (http://coreaffinity.megabyet.net/coreaffinity.htm) to use but to be honest I would rather do it manually and not have a program do it for me. I went into the taskmanger like I did with xp, then the eq2 service and right clicked to bring up the affinity. I turned off 2 of the processors and exited out of the taskmanager. A few minutes later I opened it back up to make sure all 4 were off but once again all 4 are back on. So does anyone have a clue how to turn off 2 of the processors for eq2 manually?

Hello Areil, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This can help show you how to set the processor affinity for this program.

Processor Affinity - Set for Applications

In addition, this can make it easier to do as needed.

Processor Affinity - Add Set Affinity to Context Menu

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
