well you have to understand that microsoft had published it, and it was their idea that making Alan Wake console only when allot of pc user to want it, then making it 360 only to drive up console sales

Well, they've succeeded then. I'm going to go out and get a new 360 in the next couple of weeks, and I'll buy Alan Wake as well. I love gaming on the PC, and it's still my preferred gaming device, but a console has advantages too.

I can't easily pick up my PC and take it over to a friends house if I wanna play, but I can with a console. I guess I could do that if I had a high end laptop, but I don't and a 360 costs much less than that laptop would.

Turn your monitor, or head, sideways...

I think it looks better vertical IMO... those sides look a big recessed so would make a gap underneath...

Thats gaps will help with venting.

Gamestop is suppose to offer some trade-in deals with older Xbox 360 units for newer ones starting next week.

As what the offers will be, I have no clue. Hoping I won't have to pay more then $100 if I trade in my perfectly fine (and working perfectly) Xbox 360 Elite.

I've never liked the looks of the Xbox vertical....to me it just looks silly. It's just setting it up to fall over. I would go with horizontal.

Here's the details, for anyone that hasn't seen them. The swappable hard drive is very, very interesting.

Edit: Ugh, nevermind...looks like the new swappable hard drives are proprietary as well. Damn you MS!

Quote:
Touch Sensitive Buttons - turn the Xbox 360 on or off and eject a disc with the swipe of a finger

Whisper Quiet - Whether you're playing a DVD disc or from the hard drive or navigating the dashboard, with the all-new and much quieter Xbox 360, the only noise you'll hear is your own laughing, cheering and playing

Wi-Fi - Built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi for fast, easy connection to your friends and entertainment on Xbox LIVE.

Hard Drive - 250GB internal, swappable hard drive for even more storage. To access, remove the bottom panel by pushing the small tab toward the front of the console.

Kinect-ready - Custom Kinect port on the back of the console that directly hooks up to the Kinect sensor for controller-free fun.

USB Slots - Five USB ports, three in the back and two in the front.

Power Supply - Smaller and more efficient. Xbox 360 250GB and Xbox 360 Original power supplies are not interchangeable.

Wireless Controller - The award-winning Xbox 360 Wireless Controller matches the console in all black with color-matched thumbsticks and directional pad with a touch of gloss and chrome to complete the look.

Backward Compatible - Your favorite accessories and games will work with Xbox 360 250GB. Xbox 360 external hard drives and Memory Units are not compatible.

Another 360 revision? How many of them are there now?

I wonder if some of these 'new features' are actually real world Prototype testing for the 'proper' next-gen release.

bleh, who okays this marketing crap?

If that's the banal spin they went with, I'd love to see what shite ended up on the discard pile...

From my understanding most of the red ring of death problems can be fixed by re-applying the thermal paste on the cpu. (this is what a local gaming shop that does repairs and mods for gaming consoles told me)

My first gen. xbox still runs like a charm (little noisy though lol)
