    Microsoft announces new Xbox 360

Apparently it has wifi and a 250GB hard drive for the same price as the current Elites. A couple of pictures below. Guess I know what I'm getting with my next paycheck.

I would advise either a service plan or waiting a while to make sure this hardware is more reliable than the original 360.

Yeah, I was thinking about that...but the Elites have been very reliable. I'm honestly thinking that MS learned a lot from the RROD debacles, and took their time with this one. I had a launch day 360 that lasted me until last year, so you never really know.

I kinda miss the curve that the old Xbox had, and this one is a little to shiny...but that 250GB hard drive and Wifi is nice. :)

Looks like a fingerprint magnet. How does it look like horizontally?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing...wouldn't look bad next to a large HDTV though. I still prefer the old matte finish of the Elites though. Haven't seen any pictures of it horizontally yet, but it probably looks better that way than vertically.

My original console lasted 3 years almost exactly. I bought a second one (arcade) and it's been solid and so much quieter than my original.

That's another thing that they mentioned at E3. This new Xbox is supposed to be whisper quiet which, if true, will be nice. My computers noisy enough without my Xbox adding in it's two cents.

Yeah, i'm tired of noisy computers and such...so I build 'em quiet these days. If they aren't quiet, I don't want 'em.

The only reason I'm getting a console is because the PC game market is starting to disappear. The game I was most excited for recently, Alan Wake, got cancelled for the PC at the last minute. I still want to play it, so I'm getting a 360. At least Dead Rising 2 is coming out on the PC, at least it is as of now...who knows a month from now.
