    Games and Problems??


    Well I have had a new computer for awhile now with windows 7 running on it and had so many problems. My computer seems not to running games very well and funny enough it spose to be a gamming computer.

    I am getting all sorts of promblems with diffrent sorts of games, so yeah getting freezes, sound issues, black screen, connection problems and other sorts of stuff.

    Here are the main games I am trying to run:

    Call of Duty 4: mordern warfare
    Call of Duty 5
    Call of duty 6: modern warfare 2
    empire total war and napolean total war
    and some other ones.

    Basic specs:

    Computer- ACPI x64-Based PC
    Graphics Card- Nvidia GeForce GTS 250
    Processors- Intel core 2 duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz x two
    Sound- High def audio device

    and i have tried updateing stuff, so please give me advice and i will take it onbord

    Hi Lofty...

    Take a look at my guide - Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues, in particuliar Step# 5 (Update your DirectX Files). In addition please make sure your video card drivers are updated. There are all sorts of links in the guide for getting what you need.

    That right there says to me you are missing the drivers for the sound card, most likely the onboard and not an actual sound card. Looking at the specs for your motherboard it has the Via 1708 audio chip on it and you can get the drivers for it from here,

    Just click on Download, select your OS and it is under Audio.

    Next let's see what other drivers may be missing. Open Device Manager and see if there is anything with a yellow triangle next to it, if there is post back what it is and we can point you in the right direction for the missing driver(s).
