What do you mean by un-install? The only thing I have done is downloaded it, I haven't been able to install anything, except DirectX and one or two patches. And if it's just a precautionary warning, how do I get around it? It just says it probably won't work and closes. I don't have the option, as far as I can see, to continue.

After you installed the COD4, you patched it right? (1.0 through 1.7?) well, those are also same as "installing" but the term Patch is also same with installation or updating (upgrading the main program).

You cannot update the patch unless you uninstall those patches in your COD after uninstalling it.

I understand that, but the problem is I can't install it, when I click "install" it pops up that window which I posted a picture of in a previous post. In short, it can't or won't install. So it's not installed and I can't install it is my problem. So, once I install it (if that ever happens), I will do all the patches, but as of right now I can't find out how out how to install it which is the problem.

you said you downloaded the game

if you can't even get past the install point of a downloaded game then you need to check the support section of Direct2Drive or Steam or whatever site you purchased the game from

if you downloaded a torrent/rip of CoD4:MW then this thread can be closed so that we can save everyones time and effort for the people that legitimately need it
