Halo Memory Issue

Each time I start this game, I get the error message below. I have 4096MB of ram installed, plus 4096MB of virtual memory set, yet it appears that the game sees none of this. Pressing the Continue button causes the game to play (normally), but I would like to figure how to deal with this, other than simply checking the box not to show the message again, because I have a feeling that the game might do better if it actually saw the memory properly.

Have the game here installed on both a 32 bit and 64 bit computer, and can say that I have never seen that one myself here. Have you got the game patched up to the latest 1.09,

and for a but more on the release notes for the patch,

Halo: Combat Evolved 1.09 patch released - Neoseeker News Article

Quote:
Originally tested back in August, version 1.09 (PC) aimed to fix an issue 64-bit users were having whereby the game was detecting no RAM in their >4GB systems, as well as another relating to some Microsoft security updates, affecting all users' compatibility.
also not mentioned is the 1.09 patch removes the disk check when launching the game.
