    ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead

I have been thinking about purchasing this game anyone played it. I have a great track record of purchasing duds when I purchase games so hopefully I can get some good input here as to what this one is like

I haven't tried it yet - but did you play Arma 2 by any chance?

If not, it's a great simulator styled game.

However,it's a overly buggy, resource demanding game with outdated visuals due to a game engine that hasn't drastically changed much since the original OFP.

It has a steep learning curve and is definitely not a 'run and gun' type of game like BFBC2, COD etc.

Personally, I'd wait until it comes down in price and by that time, has quite a few patches released for it.

Ah thanks I think I will now do that as I am really into the graphics side of games. Just trashed Mass Effect 2 because of the pathetic bots that you fight

yeah, graphically - this engine has not dated well. Even at max details, it doesn't look all that great and with your specs you'd have to lower quite a few details to achieve a 'playable' rate

The engine is poorly optimised, very laggy. But I thought the game had pretty nice graphics when set to high - especially on high resolution. One thing to take note of is it is certainly not a run and gun type of game and is based on the gameplay of a military simulator - so it's not for everyone.

I have ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, now this game requires A LOT of resources to run. It has a very, very steep learning curve. You better have a very top of the line hog to run this thing, and keep it looking beautiful. People are right, this game isn't very optimized.
